The Lighthouse is a spoken-word introduction that opens the album. Rather than a song, it serves as a poetic prologue setting the tone of solitude, sea, and introspection.
From afar,
I watch the ocean stretch into the unknown.
I wonder what's beyond these cold, endless waters.
Once, a light guided the brave
who dared to face the storm.
Waves crash against the cliffs.
Fog cloaks the silent fields.
Snow ó pale and somber ó
makes the days feel eternal.
Here, there's desert but no sand.
Mountains of water.
Stillness across the plains.
Melancholy cracks my years.
I don't know how much time
I have left.
But I still shine.
Strangers approach.
They unsettle the gulls along the shore.
They bring their darkness.
I welcome it.
I remain a lighthouse.
A light in the middle of the night.
